The BATC & AMSAT-UK QO-100 (Es'hail-2) WebSDR & Spectrum Monitor are located at the iconic Goonhilly Earth Station in Cornwall (IO70JB). The equipment is housed in a room dedicated to amateur radio infrastructure in the workshops building for the now defunct GHY2 90 ft dish antennae, built in 1969. The LNB is the electronics placed at the dish feed which downconverts the satellite frequencies (10,700 - 12,750MHz) to L abnd (950 - 2150MHz) which is then sent down the co-ax to the satellite reciever. The geostationary satellite Es’hail-2 carrying amateur radio transponders launched from Kennedy Space Center at 20:46 GMT on Thursday, November 15, 2018 and is now in a geostationary orbit at 25.9° East. But it does not all have to be at the operating point. The transverter etc can be sited wherever it is close to the dish. My own system has an 857 in the house, and I feed the 432MHz IF drive down about 60mtrs of sat tv cable, to the shed.
